Maintenance Dawa
‘Dawa’ means medicine in Swahili. The Dawa recipe is based on a famous Brazilian drink that was introduced to Kenya. It is now one of the most widely consumed cocktails in Kenya and has spread throughout North and South Africa.

The star ingredient is honey, which is fitting for a country with a long history of traditional beekeeping. The other ingredients are lime and alcohol.

The Kenyan communities believe that the drink is the ultimate cure to all ailments. Some people are even enhancing the strength of the Kenyan Dawa health benefits by adding in ingredients like apple cider vinegar and ginger.

Dawa comes with its own accessory, a chunky wooden (or plastic) Dawa stick used to add the honey to the drink and stir it up.
