Preferences - Controls
This feature is new as of Firestorm 6.4.21. It allows you to set custom controls (a.k.a. key bindings or keyboard shorcuts). You can use either keyboard or mouse button inputs.
- Upper left dropdown menu: Controls can be set differently for different situation. This allows you to choose which view you are setting controls for.
- When in third person: Choose this to set controls you want to use when in third-person view.
- When in first person mode (mouselook): Choose this to set controls you want to use when in mouselook.
- When editing avatar: Choose this to set controls you want to use when editing your avatar (Appearance).
- When sitting: Choose this to set controls you want to use when sitting on furniture, vehicles, poseballs, etc.
- Restore Defaults: Sets controls back to defaults.
- Controls table:
- Action column: The action you want to control.
- Primary control, Alternate 1, Alternate 2: You can have up to three ways to control any action. Click on the control you want to change.
- Select Key: Click any control to change it. The Select Key dialog will open.
- Apply to All: The keys you choose will be used in all views (third person, first person, etc.).
- Set Empty: Deletes the current control.
- Default: Sets the control to viewer default.
- Cancel: Closes the dialog without changing the control.
